The understanding of disk-halo interaction is vital to explain the evolution of spiral galaxies. Several theories exist that describes how star formation expels hot gas vertically into the halo and these disk-halo outflows have important consequences for mean-field dynamo theory. Studying a face-on galaxy like NGC 628 is essential so that the magnetic field components can be separated in 3D. RMs are only sensitive to vertical ordered fields, while polarised emission traces the ordered fields along the disk.
This talk will present state of art observations of NGC 628 from the new generation VLA- the Jansky VLA. This observation is one of the most sensitive polarimetric observations taken of a nearby galaxy and RM Synthesis provides an interesting and vital view of the 3D nature of the magnetic structure of NGC 628.
