We would like to introduce our activities as one example of how astronomy and space science education can be made available to all participants regardless of age, education level, or amount of their scientific knowledge.

Our activities focus on the visual understanding of the vastness of the universe we live in.
We have conducted our activities to participants from students of primary and high schools to adults in Japan, Cambodia, and South Africa.

In addition, we also introduce educational tools that were used in our activities, in particular, two tools.
One is Mitaka, free software developed by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), which visualizes the universe based upon up-to-date observational data and theoretical models.
The other is a game pad which enables users of all ages to play Mitaka intuitively and learn astronomy with enjoyment.

Our presentation will also include the participant’s reaction to our activities based on the results we collected from questionnaires; for example how it inspired their intellectual curiosity or expanded their views of the world.

Our activities show not only one example of astronomy and space science education available to all audiences, but perhaps a way of promoting the idea of global citizenship.
