Sun|trek: Resources for Schools
Helen Mason
University of Cambridge
The Sun|trek (www.suntrek.org) project, funded by STFC, explores the Sun and its effect on the Earth's environment. It provides resources for schools from primary (KS2) to secondary (KS3&4) levels. In the past year, the focus has been on the lower age range with close links to Tim Peake's flight on the ISS (Space to Earth Challenge (www.spacetoearthchallenge.org.uk) as part of the UK Space Agency's hugely successful Principia project. Future work is planned, including possible applications at higher KS levels, via the IRiS (eg Sun, Space Weather and TimPix) project. REF-returnable impact is discussed in relation to the Sun|trek project.
