We present a study of the chemical evolution of dust in a dust-selected and HI-selected sample of local galaxies (z es us to use the Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) fitting tool MAGPHYS to obtain both an individual and stacked Star Formation History (SFH) for each galaxy in the sample. The use of individual SFHs with a model for the chemical evolution enables us to determine the role the SFH plays in the build up of dust in the sample. By combining our dust and HI selected samples with different Herschel surveys, we are able to compare the selection biases and track the build up and decline of dust as galaxies evolve. Our HI-selected sample reveals a sub-sample of very gas rich, low stellar mass sources that are in the earliest stages of their evolution. Chemical modelling explains these dust poor, but gas rich sources as well as the observed star formation rates and metallicities. We also find that a sub-sample of Blue And Dusty Gas Rich Sources are younger and are have more recently undergone active star formation in comparison to other galaxies.
